Concentration/Inspiration.

I do not really have an adequately lighted place to take pictures of my two concentration pieces so ill just bring them in tomorrow and photograph them and put them up on my blog for everyone to see.

On a side note here is some of barry mcgee's work.
He inspires me, maybe he'll inspire you too.

concentration

So I've been trying to think of new ideas for my concentration to change it up. I have a few ideas and I've been looking at lots of artists to get inspiration. I got a whole bunch of these cool envelopes that I found so I might use those to work on. If you have any suggestions for ideas you should let me know. I'm also going to try to take pictures and post some of my art soon

Frustration.

So this one hundred photos thing was much harder for me than expected. It started off bad when I started looking for a camera, I asked my parents where one of the four point and shoot cameras (to carry around all the time) that we have is. They responded that my sister had destroyed hers by sitting on it, my dog ate my moms camera, my dad lost the battery to his and my sisters new camera was lost in a pile of junk in her closet. So I got out the DSLR and tried to carry it around but carrying around an old heavy Canon D60 is not something that is favorable. This turned the idea of taking lots of photos whenever I saw something I liked into having to go out specifically with the camera to take pictures. Another thing that made this difficult was the fact that I was being to picky and choosy and not taking shots (that i should have taken) because there was something that I did not like about the photo. So did not end up getting nearly as many photos as I would have liked or enough to meet the requirements for a few categories. I like how both of my concentration pieces turned out. I wanted to make one of them a drawing of the steel bridge from by the east side of the burnside bridge. While I was looking for a spot to take a picture and do a sketch a homeless man began hollering at me to come over to him, when I ignored him he started to walk over to me so I decided I should probably just walk away. As i'm walking down the street back to my car I see a tow truck speed around the corner turn on his lights and stop right next to my car. So I ran over to see what he was doing. He was just stopping to pull out his cell phone. So I ended up doing two different portraits and I like how both of them turned out but one of them feels like it is missing something on one side to me, ill seek advice from my classmates once I return to school. In the process of making the second piece I used almost a whole can of spray paint on one relatively small surface because I had to keep retrying layers. This left my whole room one big swirling mass of fumes. My room is small and even with having the window wide open the whole room was full of fumes. Luckily I was using a respirator and wasn't breathing this all in. This left my room covered in spray paint dust and I forgot to cover anything so now im going to have to spend a while cleaning it all off. While that was happening I also managed to spill a bottle of ink all over my carpet which is already covered in paint drips but nonetheless I would have prefered not to have two huge ink stains on my floor. Now I have retreated to sleeping in a different room on the couch because I dont want to deal with the big art mess that is my room right now....I need a studioooooo!
